Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Survey Field Technician to join our growing Survey Team. This role supports boundary, topographic, construction, and ALTA/NSPS land surveys using cutting-edge field equipment and software. You’ll work on a variety of projects, both in the field and in close collaboration with Survey Crew Chiefs, licensed surveyors, and engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with data collection and field measurements for a wide range of survey projects
Set up and operate survey instruments including GPS, total stations, and digital levels
Maintain accurate field notes and documentation for daily field activities
Perform construction staking, boundary retracement, topographic surveys, and as-built surveys
Load and unload survey equipment and manage field supplies
Follow safety procedures and represent CAGE professionally on job sites
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure quality and accuracy of work
Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration, and inventory
What We’re Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or coursework in surveying, civil engineering, or related field is a plus
0–3 years of field survey experience (we’re happy to train the right person!)
Familiarity with survey equipment and field procedures preferred
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn
Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
Must be able to travel to job sites across the region
